ELIGIBILITY ACMS Weekend Workshop is open to chamber musicians who are aged 18 years or more at the commencement of the Workshop. In 2024 we are seeking applications from string players, wind players and pre-formed ensembles. Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate piano on this occasion.
There is no specific minimum standard of proficiency but participants should have experience in performing chamber music repertoire and be comfortable with sight reading. Musicians are encouraged to apply as a pre-formed ensemble (trios, quartets, quintets etc.) though some places may be made available to individual applicants who will be allocated to an appropriate group. COST The registration fee for ACMS Weekend Workshop is due with your application by 22 March 2024.
Standard fee $310 Tertiary students * $175
* A discounted fee is offered to full time tertiary students or recent graduates intending to pursue a career in music. Please provide appropriate details on your application form.
REGISTRATIONS Complete the online registration at trybooking.com Registrations close on 22 March 2024.
MEALS ACMS Weekend Workshop is non-residential. Catered lunches and morning teas on Saturday and Sunday are included in the registration fee. There will be an optional dinner on the Saturday night at your expense.
CONCERT All participating ensembles will perform in an informal concert to fellow participants on the final afternoon of the school.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION ACMS 2024 is limited to 8 ensembles which is approximately 32 participants. Preference will be given to fully formed ensembles, the suitability of your instrument, the balance of ensembles / instruments and the date on which we receive your registration payment.
Places are expected to fill quickly. If you register as an individual, (not as part of a fully formed ensemble), we will do our best to allocate you to a group of a similar standard, however this cannot be guaranteed.
Decisions on applications will be made by ACMS staff after all registrations have been received. We will inform you by 29 March 2024 whether your application has been successful.
If you are unsuccessful, we will refund your registration fee in full. If for any reason you have to withdraw from the School after your application has been accepted, we will refund 100% of your registration fee, provided that a suitable replacement participant can be found. If no suitable substitute can be found, the refund will be reduced to 50%.
Exclusion of liability By completing the registration process, you agree that you will be attending the Adelaide Chamber Music School at your own risk. You also agree to release the Adelaide Chamber Music School, its agents and contractors from all actions and claims arising from property damage and personal injury related to your participation in School activities.
